Hannah Richard was named an assistant field hockey coach at Holy Cross on January 4, 2016. She comes to Holy Cross after serving as an assistant coach at Bucknell University for the past two seasons.
Richard joined the Bucknell coaching staff in 2014, where she played an integral role in recruiting, day-to-day team management and game-day strategy. While with the Bison, Richard help lead the program to a pair of Patriot League Tournament appearances and also a Patriot League regular season crown in 2014 with an undefeated 6-0 league record.
Prior to her time at Bucknell, Richard was a four-year member of the University of New Hampshire field hockey team, where she was a two-time second team All-America East selection. She played in over 80 games with the nationally ranked Wildcats and amassed 29 goals and five assists in her career. In three games played against Holy Cross, she recorded one goal and one assist.
Richard also has extensive camp coaching experience, having worked at numerous Division I schools such as New Hampshire, Bucknell, Northeastern and Vermont over the past five-plus years. She has also coached several club field hockey teams including the Seacoast United Field Hockey Club in Hampton, N.H.
Richard graduated from New Hampshire in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Business Administration. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science degree in Sport Science at Lock Haven University.
